Best Bets for Premier League Matchday 37 (Saturday)

Barring an unlikely collapse from red-hot Manchester City (85 points), the Cityzens just about have their third consecutive Premier League Title wrapped up. A 12th straight PL win against 11th-ranked Chelsea (43 points) on Sunday morning will see them secure the championship trophy.

As for the rest of the league, there’s still plenty to play for down the stretch of the 2023 campaign as some teams jockey for European positioning while others are simply trying to avoid relegation. As it stands, Leeds (31 points), Leicester City (30 points), and Southampton (24 points) are in the cellar, while Everton (32 points) is safe for the moment.

Let’s dive into where I’m placing my money for the upcoming matchday in the Premier League.

Premier League Matchday 37 Preview & Best Bets (2023)

Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook

Tottenham (-115) vs. Brentford (+300), Draw (+295) | 2.5 (-135/+110)

A mid-table clash gets the action going this weekend as Tottenham gears up to host Brentford in London. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. ET.

Brentford’s playing great football right now, as they’ve won three of their last four matches overall. That includes their most recent tie with West Ham United, a 2-0 victory in favor of the Bees. However, news recently broke that Brentford’s leading scorer, Ivan Toney, will be receiving an eight-month ban for sports betting. Whether we think that’s too hefty or just right, the striker and his 20-goal production won’t be with the club for the remainder of the season.

I’m left wondering where the goals will come from as Brentford travels to a hostile Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Despite the recent woes from the Spurs, I think this is a great opportunity for them to get back into the win column. Let’s back them as slight favorites at home.

Liverpool (-205) vs. Aston Villa (+500), Draw (+400) | 3.5 (+135/-165)

Jurgen Klopp’s men have really turned it on down the stretch as they’ve rattled off seven straight Premier League victories. They’ve now guaranteed themselves a ticket to European competitions next season and still have a shot for a top-four position. They’ll host Aston Villa Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. ET from Anfield.

Considering Anfield is regarded as one of the toughest places to play in the world, I’m not betting against the Reds’ seven-match heater ending on Saturday. I’d be completely fine with laying the -205 juice if you’re looking for more of a conservative play; however, I’ll add under 3.5 goals to give up a more attractive payout.

Alisson has been excellent this season, posting 14 clean sheets over 36 starts on the domestic front. That includes his current streak of three consecutive matches without yielding a goal. He’ll be tasked with slowing down an Aston Villa side that’s 11th in goals in the PL this year (48). They’ve netted just four goals over their last five matches while allowing four over the same timeframe. I expect Liverpool to collect the three points while keeping it under 3.5 goals.

Bet: Liverpool To Win and Under 3.5 Goals (+130)
