A day after announcing the dismissal of head coach Adrian Heath, Minnesota United host Los Angeles Galaxy in a clash between two teams who are struggling to make the playoffs in MLS’ Western Conference.
Minnesota, who haven’t won in seven in MLS, sit three points off the postseason spots with two matches left in the regular season. Meanwhile, the Galaxy – who have won one in seven in the league – are three points further back. That said, the five-time MLS champions have an extra match still to play.
Minnesota’s assistant coach, Sean McAuley, will take interim charge of the Loons for the remainder of the campaign.
